Leko’s career began at the age of 15 when he won the Concerto competition of the Young Artists in Croatia resulting in performances throughout Croatia with the chamber portion of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra. From 2000 to 2004 he studied piano with Marina Ambokadze at the Music Academy “Ino Mirkovich” in Lovran, under the license of the Moscow State Conservatory “P.I. Tchaikovsky.” In 2006 he continued his musical studies at the University of Dayton where he also earned a degree in piano performance. His performances were both praised in Europe, USA and Canada. Croatian newspapers and Croatian National Televison recorded, broadcasted and followed his performances on numerous occasions.
Leko also performed in various halls across Canada (Vancouver, Ottawa, Winnipeg) USA (Washington D.C., Orlando, Dayton, and Europe (Frankfurt, Wuppertal). Leko performed with various symphony orchestras, such as Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Rijeka Philharmonic Orchestra and Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. Especially praised was his interpretation of Rachmaninoff Third Concerto. He currently resides in Winnipeg, Canada.
